The Healers of Armengar |

Unlike the mages, incantors and ritualists, Armengar has always had healers. The connection to the Plane of Life is gained through a ceremony held by the Wishing Tree in the Citadel of Armengar. The Wishing Tree is a large Oak-like tree which produces a poisonous sap. Those who drink the sap either end up dead or with healing powers.
Most healers perform the sap drinking ceremony when they are quite young. Healers do not go the training camp as often as others due to the time they must spend perfecting their art. There is in effect a small healing school in the citadel, which has been most interested in communication with healers from the outside now that Armengar is no longer under permanent siege.
There is no heirarchy amongst the healers of armengar, although there is a high healer (Ard Slanaighear) whose duties include tending the wishing tree and vocally representing the Healers in the Volksraad.
