Culain was a precocious child, always asking questions, and rarely satisfied with the answers given him by his parents and others. His voracious appetite for knowledge was matched by his love of the martial ways, as can be expected of most Armengarians. Trying to find a way to integrate both traits led to his decision to train as a scout, and he has since continued asking questions of any who will listen. The discovery of a world outside Amnor has in his view only given him more to learn, and new goals. All he has learned about the rest of Erdreja has led to him taking a strong interest in many subjects he previously knew nothing about, most notably the tactics used in offensive warfare rather than defensive, and also, oddly in Armengarians, in politics. Though he has displayed no magical ability, he has recently begun to study Rituals, and the Circles they must be performed in. His curiosity, though annoying to many, has not precluded his marriage to Grainne, and the birth of his son Ciaran in 1096 has made his dream of a family of his own come true. Though now Quartermaster of Armengar, Culain still enjoys working with his brother Diedrac, a front-liner in Armengar Legion, whenever possible.
